If you’re planning to let Netflix do its thing this weekend, first things first: get that watchlist ready and stock up on those munchies.

Although every passing weekend threatens to send you into a full-blown crisis of options, it’s really just the classic “closet full of clothes, absolutely nothing to wear” trope; you can literally have a mountain of backups on standby, yet somehow not a single one feels worthy of the big night out.

The thing is, no matter how deep your bench is, the main event always demands a miracle. And thankfully, Netflix is not short on them.

Crew Girl (Norman Buckley, Amanda Tapping, Jacquie Gould, Alysse Leite-Rogers, and Simon Barry, 2026)

Our weekend watchlist is a mixed bag this time around, which kicks off with Crew Girl, Netflix’s latest coming-of-age story. The YA sports romance drama follows 16-year-old Teagan Tao, a prodigious single sculler whose promising athletic future is derailed by a massive family financial scandal, prompting her to relocate to the East Coast with her mother, Ella, where she plans to start anew at the elite Easton Prep.

While she already knew she’d be a fish out of water there, things take a far worse turn when she arrives to find no girls’ rowing team at her new private school. It turns out the only way onto the water is to join Easton’s notoriously chaotic boys’ varsity crew as a coxswain. Crew Girl centres on Teagan as she embarks on a determined journey to lead the team and make them trust her leadership while navigating family problems that keep growing by the minute.

The Perfect Lie (Dana Nechushtan and Margien Rogaar, 2026)

Love is clearly in the air, but what’s probably missing is a gritty thriller to elevate the weekend aura. So, the second stop on the weekend watchlist has to be the new Dutch adaptation of Saskia Noort’s bestselling novel The Dinner Club, AKA De Eetclub, The Perfect Lie. The psychological thriller follows Karen, who relocates to the affluent town of Bergen with her family, seeking a fresh start, where the Dinner Club welcomes them warmly.

The Dinner Club is a close-knit group of wealthy, elite friends who seem to have it all – palatial villas, successful careers, expensive taste, picture-perfect families – name it. But when a sudden fire breaks out in one of those villas, killing a member of the group named Evert, the glitz and glamour of the exclusive circle starts to fade. As Karen digs deeper into the tragedy, she realises that the group is actually held together by a thick web of deceit and half-truths that may justify The Perfect Lie.

Stolen Heartbeats (Netflix Original Production, 2026)

Next on our weekend watchlist is a gripping new supernatural thriller, Stolen Heartbeats, that blends medical drama with mystery and conspiracy. The Colombian series centres on Anabel, who is left comatose following a violent assault that leaves her hanging between life and death. As she remains unconscious amidst rising threats, her recovery evolves into a race against the clock to track down the enemies and capture whoever is responsible.

Enters Rafael, a nurse with the unlikely ability to hear the dead. While Anabel’s physical body remains comatose, she and Rafael must work together using his skills to piece together the truth, uncover the hidden secrets, and stay a step ahead of the enemies who seem hell-bent on getting rid of her. Stolen Heartbeats follows Anabel and Rafael’s desperate pursuit to keep her alive against dangerous odds.  

Dang! (Andrew Law, 2026)

Although we started the weekend marathon on a light-hearted note, it’s only getting darker the farther we go. So, to lighten the mood, we recommend Dang!, the newest adult-animated comedy on Netflix. Created by Andrew Law, the animated series spotlights two underachieving Dang siblings, Eunice and Andrew, living in New York City, inherently down on their luck when it comes to professional endeavours.

While they seem to have made peace with that, unlike their overachieving eldest sister Ruthie, who is a family favourite in every case, their peaceful existence takes a backseat when Ruthie shows up at their door one fine day. Contrary to their expectations, Ruthie drops back-to-back bombs about her life, indicating she’s just as capable of mistakes. Dang! revolves around the family drama that follows when Eunice, Andrew, and Ruthie travel to Boston to their family home to reveal the unthinkable.

The Gentlemen (Guy Ritchie, Eran Creevy, and Nick Rowland, 2024-Present)

Call it a repeat recommendation if you will, but if you’re yet to catch up on The Gentlemen season two, this weekend is the only time. The sophomore season picks up a year after a reluctant Eddie and Susie joined forces to run Bobby’s criminal empire overseas after the duke accidentally stumbled into the cannabis kingdom brewing in his newly inherited estate. As we all know, a year can change a lot, and the change looks dapper on Eddie.

Determined to expand the budding enterprise, Eddie is clearly no longer as reluctant as he once used to be. But with Bobby’s decisions growing more erratic by the minute, The Gentlemen season two puts Eddie and Susie in a tough spot. Either they must spring into action while there’s still time or risk losing everything they’ve built so far. However, knowing that unchecked ambition doesn’t really end well, it remains to be seen where the journey takes Eddie.
