Life has a way of throwing your overachieving siblings in your face just when you’re at your lowest, and Dang! on Netflix is firsthand proof.

The adult-animated comedy follows a pair of down-on-their-luck Asian-American siblings, Eunice and Andrew, living in New York City, who never really could measure up to their overachieving eldest sister Ruthie. As the underachieving members of the Dang family, Andrew and Eunice not only face dicey family dynamics and scepticism, but also professional setbacks that make them the black sheep.

Despite being the co-founder of his company, Andrew is laid off over a data breach, while Eunice is an OnlyFans creator. Sounds pretty tough, right? Well, it only gets tougher when Ruthie shows up at their door to announce a pregnancy, an affair, and a divorce. While that’s a lot for the overachiever, the series focuses on the three siblings as they reconnect and figure out how to tell their parents.

As Eunice and Andrew prepare to accompany Ruthie to Boston to face their family in Dang!, they get overwhelmed with the idea of their Boston personas taking over. Meanwhile, for Ruthie, it’s just as important to make the most of her remaining time as her parents’ favourite. But when they arrive, Ruthie steps back and instead throws both of her siblings under the bus, revealing the firing and the OnlyFans scoop.

This leaves the parents furious with the pair of underachieving siblings, and ostracism reaches new heights. And safe to say, Eunice and Andrew don’t appreciate the chickening out either. While the confrontation with Ruthie doesn’t take the duo anywhere, chaos unfolds as the family prepares to attend their mother’s performance in a Chinese dance recital.

Andrew and Eunice call Ruthie’s ex-husband Warren, who accidentally reveals the pregnancy to the family. Although that takes her mother aback, they decide to lie to everyone that Ruthie will raise the kid with Warren. As the performance goes on, the sibling duo also decide to break the ice, tell everyone about their jobs and ease the tension.
