Netflix has recently unveiled two new posters for the upcoming third season of the fan-favourite show The Umbrella Academy. These posters feature the dysfunctional Hargreeves family and their counterparts, the Sparrows.
Previously, the streamer had released a couple of character posters to introduce the Sparrows which fuelled fan anticipation.
The third season will pick up right after the second season cliffhanger where the Hargreeves return to their home in the present, convinced to have prevented the apocalypse and fixed the timeline.
However, they soon realise that they have created an entryway for their villainous counterparts, the Sparrow Academy who clash with the Umbrella Academy in a brutal face-off.
When a mysterious entity threatens to disrupt the entire UNiverse, will the Umbrellas and Sparrows unite? Only time will tell.
Showrunner Steve Blackman has promised “some very big surprises with the family this year”, with “tonnes of Easter eggs” that will also show unexpected “growth for the family this year”.
The returning cast includes Elliot Page, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Robert Sheehan, David Castaneda, Tom Hopper, Colm Feore and more. The season will also feature new faces like Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Justin Cornwell, Cazzie David, Genesis Rodriguez etc.
The Umbrella Academy season three will premiere on Netflix on June 22nd, 2022.
