Netflix maps out the release of several new series in 2022

Right before the Holiday season, Netflix decided to ring in the Christmas gifts early by heightening our anticipation for the new year. Earlier this week, they announced their elaborate plans regarding all the new series that will be arriving in 2022 and also provided updates regarding adding new seasons to the already existing shows.

In January 2022, the streamer will see the new show Archive 81 which is a genre-bending thriller flick that sees a man getting involved in a cult conspiracy while restoring archive tapes. This was released on January 14, followed by In From The Cold on January 28. This show will revolve around a woman who confronts her past experiences and trauma as a part of the Russian espionage system.

While Michael B. Jordan’s Raising Dion will be back with a second season on February 1, 2022, Vikings aficionados will be delighted to know that Vikings: Valhalla will finally arrive on the streamer on 25th of February, after months of eager anticipation.

Netflix has confirmed the renewal of shows like The Umbrella Academy, Locke & Key, Alice in Borderland. However, it is the return of the fourth season of Stranger Things that is causing the maximum buzz.

Other new shows also include The Sandman, Magic: The Gathering, The Witcher: Blood Origin as well as Mike Flanagan’s much-awaited The Midnight Club

The animated spin-off of Army of the Dead, named Lost Vegas will not be the only supernatural series to premiere as it will be followed by the zombie series All Of Us Are Dead and First Kill that features vampires. Cyberpunk Edgerunners, too, will debut on the streamer and all these upcoming scheduled titles seem pretty promising!

Netflix UK also announced a flurry of new shows that would add to the list of beloved British shows, following the success of The Crown, Sex Education, Top Boy, After Life and more.

These five brand new scripted shows include the works of people like Charlie Covell from The End of the F***ing World, Abi Morgan from The Split and Andrew ‘Rapman’ Onwubolu from Blue Story

2022 already seems to be an exciting year with a slew of blockbuster releases and we officially cannot wait for the new year to arrive.
