Last week, Netflix released a trailer announcing their 2022 lineup of highly-anticipated Netflix Originals that also provided a look into Rian Johnson’s upcoming film, Knives Out 2.
Within the trailer that is slightly over three minutes, the snippet for Johnson’s film appears exactly 38 seconds after the two-minute mark, where the star-studded ensemble can be boarding a yacht, clad in quite expensive clothing.
The cast includes the likes of Daniel Craig, Ethan Hawke, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahm, Jessica Henwick, Dave Bautista, Madelyn Cline and Janelle Monae.
Netflix has purchased the Knives Out franchise for a staggering $450m deal that includes rights to the trilogy.
Daniel Craig will be seen reprising his role as the detective, Benoit Blanc from the first film. Filmed in Greece instead of New England, the filmmaker has also expressed his desire to follow the riveting template of Agatha Christie’s novels. With the first film being a massive success, fans cannot wait for the second film to see what an intense yacht ride might have in store.
The trailer also included sneak peeks into various other films, including the Russo brothers’ The Gray Man, starring Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas and Rege Jean Page.
With Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill in their avatars for Enola Holmes 2, talking directly to the camera, to Charlize Theron looking regal in her character for The School For Good and Evil, the trailer sets the pace for the arrival of these much-awaited films.
Various stars make an appearance to record a message within the video, including Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, Jason Momoa, Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg and others.
The 2022 schedule will roughly release around two films a week, which includes 61 English language films, 20 foreign-language films and five animated titles.
