‘The Adam Project’ sets a Netflix record and Blake Lively reacts

Ryan Reynolds has been a much-adored star for decades but now seems to be a perfect time to be him. His stardom has reached the zenith over the past few years, especially with his 2021 Netflix release Red Notice. With The Adam Project, the actor has set a massive record.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the film stars Walker Scobell, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana. Reynolds plays the titular Adam in the sci-fi time travel film that has won the hearts of the Netflix audience with the proper balance between sci-fi hijinks and heartwarming moments.

Since its release, the film has occupied the top spot on the Top 10 most popular films list on Netflix, becoming a global sensation. It has been streamed for 209.7 million hours and is a part of the elite streaming club, joining two other Reynolds flicks.

While his 2021 film with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot has been streamed for 364 million hours, making Red Notice the highest-streamed film on the streamer, Reynolds’ 2019 film with Michael Bay 6 Underground followed suit with a streaming time of 205.5 million hours.

Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy is thrilled to see his other Reynolds collaboration Free Guy perform equally well on the streamer. He said, “To see both The Adam Project and Free Guy connect in such a globally commercial way is really meaningful to Ryan and I.”

The duo will continue collaborating, starting with the much-awaited Deadpool 3

While The Adam Project has become the seventh most-popular English language film created by Netflix and still has ample space to climb up the charts, Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, had a sweet reaction.

Lively and Reynolds often engage in friendly banter and jabs on social media, setting high standards for couples. She took to Instagram to talk about how this is her “new favourite movie” and urged the duo to work together again.

The other films on the most popular English language Netflix films list include The Irishman, Bird Box, Extraction etc.
