The 5 best new series to watch on Netflix in June 2022

Netflix has a charming and promising set of Original films and series lined up for 2022.

Despite the massive subscriber exodus and falling stock prices, the streamer has constantly strived to provide new titles every month. In June 2022, their efforts to deliver engaging Original content seem to have multiplied.

Among series, Netflix has added the first volume of the fourth season of Stranger Things by the end of May 2022 which quickly became a massive hit on the streaming giant, topping global charts. Among other anticipated series releases in June, The Umbrella Academy season three and the final season of Peaky Blinders top the list.

Netflix has been adding new films, documentaries and comedy content as well this month.

Here are the five new Netflix Original series we are excited to see in June 2022:

New series to watch on Netflix in June 2022:

Man vs. Bee– Rowan Atkinson, Will Davies

While Netflix has lately been interested in insect-driven films, Man vs. Bee is nothing close to its creepy 2021 French horror-thriller Swarm. With ten episodes, the trailer of the upcoming Netflix Original promises a riotous comedy and a series of mishaps as the lead is pushed to madness by a swarm of bees.

Having worked with Davies on the Johnny English franchise before, our beloved Mr Bean (AKA Rowan Atkinson) is returning on-screen in a brand new avatar as a man who is assigned the duty of house-sitting. However, things go awry when he gets on the wrong side of a swarm of bees which leads to absolute chaos and irreparable damage.

Man vs Bee is premiering on June 24th, 2022.

The Umbrella Academy- Jeremy Slater, Steve Blackman

Adapted from Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s graphic novel, The Umbrella Academy is coming back for the third season where the dysfunctional Hargreeves family will find themselves facing a new adversary as the Sparrow Academy, which is their alter-ego from a different timeline. As the world approaches inevitable doom, the Hargreeves must find out ways to fight the space-time paradox and restore normalcy.

The ten-episode season will have a massive ensemble cast. The older cast will include Elliot Page as Vanya, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, David Castaneda as Diego, Justin H. Min as Ben and Tom Hopper as Luther. The new cast includes Justin Cornwell, Britney Oldford, Jake Epstein, Cazzie David and Genesis Rodriguez.

The Umbrella Academy season three will premiere on Netflix on June 22nd, 2022.

Peaky Blinders (Steven Knight)

Peaky Blinders is coming back for a final season on Netflix. Moody and dark, the final season brings the chapter close and marks an epic end to Thomas Shelby’s notorious escapades with the show venturing into the timeline of the Second World War and traces the journey of the Shelbys during the battle against the Germans.

Called “intense” and “heavy”, the sixth season will be followed by a feature-length film soon. The film has an ensemble cast comprising Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, Paul Anderson, Sam Claflin, Finn Cole, Amber Anderson and Stephen Graham.

The sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders will begin streaming on Netflix on June 10th, 2022.

God’s Favourite Idiot (Ben Falcone)

Starring Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Dunn, Leslie Bibb and Yanic Truesdale among others, with eight episodes, the upcoming American apocalyptic workplace comedy series.

The show revolves around a man named Clark who gets struck by a lightning and begins to glow unusually. His co-workers and girlfriend begin to believe that he is the new messenger of God.

This show will premiere on Netflix on June 15th, 2022.

Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area (Kim Hong-su)

The Korean version of the popular Spanish Netflix series titled Money Heist is finally coming to the streamer and promises unbridled tension, action, violence and drama. The six-episode series will see Park Hae-soo, Park Myung-hoon, Yunjin Kim, Seon Woo-jin, Jeon Jong-seo, Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Won-jong, Lee Hyun-woo and others in prominent roles.

The series is set during a time when North and South Korea unite for economic benefits which are eventually only meted out to the privileged as the rich get richer while the others suffer. Determined to rob an epic four trillion Korean Won, the Professor is seen forging a team of delinquents to accomplish the task that requires “getting the public on our side” as the “last piece of the puzzle”.

This highly-anticipated series will debut on Netflix on June 24th, 2022.
