Netflix announce ‘Peaky Blinders’ season 6 release date

After making fans wait for an excruciatingly long time, the BBC finally released Peaky Blinders season six episodes on Sunday, February 27th, 2022. Now, Netflix has finally announced the release date for the episodes.

Steven Knight’s popular crime series will premiere its sixth and final season on Netflix on June 10th, 2022. While the first five episodes are all available for streaming, the six episodes of the last season will all drop together on the same day for fans to binge on.

The final season brings the chapter close and marks an epic end to Thomas Shelby’s notorious escapades. The third episode is scheduled for a March 13th, 2022 release on BBC.

The sixth season will focus on Shelby’s failed Oswald Mosley assassination plot that led to the murder of Polly Gray. This addition helped bring Gray’s chapter to a close following the actress Helen McCrory’s tragic and untimely demise due to a battle with cancer last year.

The sixth season of the show ventures into the timeline of the Second World War and traces the journey of the Shelbys amidst rising fascism. The final episode will reportedly be “feature-length”, which usually refers to a 90-minute long episode, according to an anonymous Reddit user.

Peaky Blinders season six has an extensive ensemble cast, namely Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, Paul Anderson, Sam Claflin, Finn Cole etc. The new cast members are Stephen Graham, Amber Anderson etc.

Although this “intense” and “heavy” season is coming to an end, the Peaky Blinders universe will be followed by a feature-length film that will be set and shot in Birmingham, United Kingdom. According to Knight, the movie “will probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it.”

Peaky Blinders season six releases on Netflix on Friday, June 10th, 2022.
