When will ‘Peaky Blinders’ season 6 premiere on Netflix?

Steven Knight’s 2013 BBC series Peaky Blinders have changed the course of British crime dramas and is set to bring the epic saga of the Shelbys to an end with its sixth and final season this year. The epic success of the series has turned it into a phenomenon, reportedly spurring a series of pubs, bars and barbershops in its honour.

Starring Cillian Murphy as Thomas ‘Tommy’ Shelby, the iconic and enigmatic protagonist of the series, the show chronicles his ambitious escapades against the moody and dark backdrop that recounts the adventures of the notorious Black Country gang, infamous for their peaked caps hiding their dangerous razor blade stashes.

The sixth and final season will bleed into the timeline of the Second World War and see the Shelbys fighting desperately to save their gang and deal with rising fascist powers. Calling the season “intense”, Murphy told  Rolling Stone magazine, “The word we keep using is ‘gothic’. Yeah, it’s going to be heavy!”

While the show is coming to an end, a film is most likely on its way. As Knight promised, “I think of this sixth series as the end of the beginning.”
