“Our heist will go down in history as a revolutionary crime,” says The Professor in the new, thrilling trailer for the upcoming Netflix Korean series, Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area.
When fans hears about the South Korean remake of the popular Spanish show, Money Heist, they were ecstatic. Set in Korea, the show will recreate one of the greatest heists in history, incorporating the Korean sensibility and features a massive ensemble cast.
The original creator of the Spanish series, Alex Pina will serve as the executive producer in this remake where just like its Spanish predecessor, the show will see the Professor and his ragtag team of heist members carry out an audacious heist attempt.
Helmed by Kim Hong-su, the six-episode series will see Park Hae-soo, Park Myung-hoon, Yunjin Kim, Seon Woo-jin, Jeon Jong-seo, Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Won-jong, Lee Hyun-woo and others in prominent roles.
The series is set during a time when North and South Korea unite for economic benefits which are eventually only meted out to the privileged as the rich get richer while the others suffer.
Determined to rob an epic four trillion Korean Won, the Professor is seen forging a team of delinquents to accomplish the task that requires “getting the public on our side” as the “last piece of the puzzle.”
The series promises unbridled tension, violence and action as well as dramatic sequences via the trailer.
Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 24th, 2022.
