The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: March 2022

Every week Best of Netflix will bring to you the list of the ten most popular series on Netflix across the globe. From new releases to certain old ones, some of these Netflix shows have been reigning the charts for weeks and generating conversations on social media.

With the second season of Chris Van Dusen’s popular Regency-era period drama series Bridgerton premiering on Netflix on Friday, March 25th, 2022, the season has garnered a staggering watching time of a little shy of 194 million hours. The second season focuses on the forbidden yearning between the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony and the fiery and spirited Kate Sharma. With unbridled sexual tension, romance and references to past trauma, the season has become very popular.

The chart has also managed to include the story of the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne and her romantic pursuits with Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, in Bridgerton season one. While Rege Jean-Page was no longer seen in the second season, the show still seems to be extremely popular among the masses.

Top Boy, too, has found both its seasons dominating the charts. Ronan Bennett’s searing socio-political examination of racial politics and street life has been praised by one and all. The second season takes the characters out of London, into the picturesque locations of Morocco and Spain.

True-crime titles are still performing well. For the seventh week in a row, Shonda Rhimes’ limited docuseries Inventing Anna, starring Julia Garner and Anna Chlumsky, has found itself a spot on the top ten charts. Audience members have streamed the title for over 28 million hours this week, still enamoured by the exploits of the fake German heiress Anna Delvey as she scammed the wealthy New York socialite.

Sarma Melngailis’ bizarre escapades with Shane Fox, too, seems to have generated quite the attention as Bad Vegan has found itself a secure spot on the chart for the second week with a little over `17 million hours of streaming. Viewers certainly cannot get enough of how the celebrity restauranteur was scammed by the man who promised to grant immortality to her beloved Pitbull.

Toni Collette’s action-thriller series Pieces of Her is still a part of the chart for the fourth week, closely following the fifth season of The Last Kingdom. Both the titles have been streamed for over 20 million hours.
