Netflix releases the official trailer of ‘Top Boy’ season 2

Ahead of the release of its second season, Netflix recently dropped the trailer for Top Boy. Created by Ronan Bennett, this 2019 series is set in the fictional Summerhouse estate.

After the first season’s release in 2019, the pandemic and lockdown restrictions led to an unprecedented delay in production. Finally, the crew has overcome all these obstacles, and the second season is coming back with a bang on Netflix, as announced by a massive billboard campaign across London.

With Ashley Walters as Dushane Hill and Kane Robinson as Gerald Sullivan in the lead, this honest and thought-provoking show ended on a cliffhanger in the third season where the mysterious gunshot put Dris’ fate on the line while the rookies actually turned out to be police officers.

Since the show does not shy away from portraying the grim realities of life, Walters had emphasised how the project gives a “raw, real representation of the street culture” and helps gain an insight into the reasons behind the various choices made by the characters.

Walters and Robinson will be joined by Araloyin Oshunremi, Kadeem Ramsay, Saffron Hocking, Jasmine Jobson, Little Simz, Michael Ward, Jolade Obasola and Hope Ikpoku Jr. The new cast embers include Adwoa Aboah, Nolay and Erin Kellyman.

The second season of Top Boy will debut on Netflix on March 18th, 2022.
