'Stranger Things' star Finn Wolfhard takes on first directorial role

Finn Wolfhard gained a massive fan following after he played the role of the fearless and logical kid Mike Wheeler on Netflix’s Stranger Things over the course of the last three seasons. Set to appear in the upcoming fourth instalment, he will also be donning the director’s hat pretty soon.

Ahead of the 2022 release of the fourth season, in an interview, Wolfhard revealed his plans to helm his very own feature-length film, after having tried his hand behind the lens with the short film Night Shifts

Wolfhard described his upcoming film to be a horror-comedy-slasher film that will be based at a campsite.

Although the actor remained pretty tight-lipped about the same, fans are already pretty excited to see Wolfhard’s creative ingenuity shine on-screen.

Having appeared in Stranger Things, which is the Duffer brother’s nostalgic tribute to the 80s, Wolfhard has seemingly gained a lot of knowledge about the decade when slasher flicks were in fashion. Campsite slasher stories have been quite popular in the literary genre.

Wolfhard was also seen in Ghostbusters: Afterlife alongside Bill Murray, Paul Rudd and Mckenna Grace.

He has teased a very dark season for Stranger Things which will alternate among California, Hawkins and Russia and will likely be extremely riveting, according to the actor that has also increased fan anticipation.
