Ryan Reynolds meets mini-self in new ‘The Adam Project’ clip

Ryan Reynolds had a pretty epic 2021 with his hit Netflix mockbuster, Red Notice, where he appeared alongside Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot. With the filmmaker, Rawson Marshall Thurber working on two back-to-back sequels for the film, the actor is busy with several projects down the pipeline.

However, in March 2022, Netflix users will be delighted to see Reynolds team up with his Free Guy alum, Shawn Levy, also known for his fantastic work as the producer on Stranger Things

In Levy’s upcoming time-travel sci-fi Netflix film, The Adam Project, Reynolds will be seen as the titular Adam, a time-travelling pilot who meets his younger self while looking for his lover who has mysteriously disappeared. Together, they travel further back in time to meet their father, whose tragic demise left them grief-stricken.

Said to be a “personal story” by Reynolds himself, the film will star Walker Scobell as mini-Adam. Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Catherine Keener, and others will also star in prominent roles.

The crazy and quirky chemistry between the duo, namely Reynolds and Scobell, is shown in a new four-minute clip released by Netflix.

Besides their friendly and cheeky banter, the younger Adam annoys his older version, with the latter often sarcastically commenting on situations. In one of the scenes, Reynolds jokes about getting stabbed before the younger asks him about getting shot. The exchange leads the older Adam to call himself a “moron”.

With plenty of reveals, goofs and heartwarming bonding taking place on-screen, Reynolds has himself confirmed how the film would allude to the old school classics by Stephen King or Steven Spielberg.

The Adam Project will premiere on Netflix on March 11th, 2022.
