Netflix announces new limited ‘Arcane’ spin-off series

During Netflix Geeked Week 2022 events, Netflix announced a spin-off series to the fan-favourite animated show Arcane. The new project will reportedly be available for streaming on YouTube.

Titled Arcane: Bridging the Rift, the upcoming limited spin-off series will revolve around the origins of the popular animated show derived from the acclaimed video game League of Legends

While the spin-off will not be available for streaming on Netflix, it will stream on the YouTube channel of Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends

Bringing the Rift will give an intimate insight into the six years devoted to developing the League of Legends spin-off, Arcane, and will debut each episode every Thursday for five weeks, being released on August 4th, 2022.

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane dealt with the origin stories of some of the most prolific and well-known characters from the game’s universe, providing a different perspective and starring various familiar faces across the entertainment industry voicing the League of Legends characters.

The second season of Arcane is currently in the works and will debut not before 2023. The creators confirmed the news: “We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second instalment.”

Arcane: Bringing the Rift will premiere on Riot Games’ YouTube channel on August 4th, 2022.
