Netflix confirms ‘Arcane’ season 2 production status

After its successful November release, Netflix has finally confirmed an upcoming second season for the video game adaptation of League of Legends, titled Arcane

The series dealt with the origin stories of some of the most prolific and well-known characters from the game’s universe, providing a different perspective and starring various familiar faces across the entertainment industry voicing the League of Legends characters.

With Hailee Steinfeld, Katie Leung, Ella Purnell, Kevin Alejandro, Harry Lloyd and more, this series — that marks Netflix’s third foray into the gaming world following The Witcher and DOTA — had overtaken Squid Game as the most-watched series on Netflix ever since its premiere.

Co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee confirmed this at a fan event. “We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second instalment,” they said.

The show also took to Twitter to confirm the same. According to them, the second season is already in production. Steinfeld, Leung and Purnell will return to reprise their respective roles.
