Money Heist ‘Berlin’ Netflix Series: Everything We Know So Far

La Casa De Papel or popularly known as Money Heist had a flourishing five-season run on Netflix. Until the producers decided it was time to end the show on a sweet note. The show presented itself as one of the most exceptional heists shows ever made. Along with that, the mind games and strategies keep one navigating the edge of their seats throughout. The point being, the fans did not have enough. Definitely did not have enough of Berlin.

The audience wants more. To ease your minds, and dive deeper into the characters, Netflix has decided to do what is best. A spinoff! Berlin is back. Beloved Berlin played by Pedro Alonso, is one of the most gifted artists of our time.

If you somehow managed to miss the show, head on out now. This is your disclaimer for spoilers ahead. The viewers loved Berlin right from the beginning of the show. He was the mastermind behind the majestic heists.

We got some more context about the character after he was killed off in the final minutes of part II. But the flashbacks were not enough to do justice to the exceptionally well-written and interesting character. Want to revisit the monumental death scene? Here it is!

Ever since 2021, the year the show saw the end of the light, there have been numerous rumours of possible spin-offs. Alex Pina, the creator of the show himself, has made many claims about expanding on the characters’ backgrounds.

Pina added in his interview with Oprah, ‘“We do have many possibilities for some spinoffs, yes, and I think that’s thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters. We’ve always looked for characters to have a very complex, layered design. So I think almost every character of Money Heist has a duality that we would like to see in a spinoff.” And based on popular demand, Berlin was the right place to begin.

Who will we see in Berlin?

Pina adds in his interview, “This is going to be a trip throughout the golden years of the character. When he was stealing all over Europe, madly in love.” As one of Berlin’s other love Palermo joined the show towards the end, we are yet to learn how they meet.

In the Tudum event, we also get a flash of the revised 33rd version of the first script called “Pais Stories”. Hinting at Berlin’s monumentous heist of 434 diamonds from one of the most renowned places of Paris.

What to expect from Berlin?

By all the hints dropped by the producers, we can be rest assured the coming show will be based in Europe. Berlin will be seen in his younger years and his journey to becoming the mastermind of a heist that he has become. As Professor and Berlin are brothers, after all, the show might also touch upon their origin story. Younger years were spent by the heist brothers together.
