From spotlighting older gems from Hollywood’s Hall of Fame to expanding its original slate of productions with highly anticipated releases, Netflix has a packed week ahead. Although we’re pigeonholing our focus to the streamer’s original upcoming titles, that doesn’t leave any room for relaxation either.
If anything, this is going to be an extremely busy week for both parties, and what awaits on the other side of the hustle is non-stop entertainment.
So, for those waiting on what to watch next, here are the five Netflix releases to keep an eye out for this week.
Five Netflix releases to watch out for this week
Enola Holmes 3 (Philip Barantini, 2026)
Scheduled to arrive on July 1st, Enola Holmes 3 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2022 movie, which sees the return of Millie Bobby Brown as the titular spy and Henry Cavill as Sherlock. In the movie that comes after four years of waiting, mystery follows Enola beyond borders in the island nation of Malta. As she prepares to head towards the altar to tie the knot with Lord Tewkesbury, an unbelievable piece of news comes her way.
She learns that her brother, Sherlock, has been abducted, and there’s nothing to hold Enola back. Without thinking twice, she springs into action to track down her elder brother, all while navigating the supremely complicated feelings she harbours about the marriage. Enola Holmes 3 centres on an increasingly difficult phase of the protagonist’s life, where personal and professional challenges collide in a case that is easily the most treacherous yet.
Summer ’36 (Frédéric Garson, 2026)
Also slated to hit the Netflix shelves on July 1st is a French limited series, Summer ’36, that promises to take viewers back to a watershed moment of 20th-century French history. The six-episode drama blends historical storytelling with thriller elements, capturing a rattling cultural clash against the backdrop of a gritty murder mystery.
Set in the summer of 1936 in Nice, France, the story takes place on the Côte d’Azur, where traditional elite vacationers are disrupted by the arrival of working-class people enjoying their first ever paid holiday. Summer ’36 primarily follows four women from distinctly different social backgrounds, who find themselves entangled in the murder of a prosecutor in his room at the Riviera Hotel, turning their family, personal and professional lives upside down.
Worst Neighbor Ever (Cynthia Childs, 2026)
Up next on our weekly arrival arc, we have Worst Neighbor Ever, a gripping true-crime documentary releasing on July 1st. The four-episode docu-series explores shocking, real-life neighbourhood disputes, with each episode focusing on a different true story. If that somehow gives off the idea that it’s all about petty issues, well, you’re in for a surprise, because the nightmares range from cases of severe stalking to unbelievable psychological battles.
Constructed through police bodycam footage, Worst Neighbor Ever features firsthand interviews, highlighting cases of extreme exploitation, harassment, fraud, and violence. Make no mistake, these are anything but stories about noisy neighbours. Instead, they capture the heights of neighbourhood nightmare, exploring how everyday living situations can tread into bizarrely dangerous territories, inviting the seemingly impossible.
Human Vapor (Shinzo Katayama, 2026)
Serving as a reimagining of the 1960 Toho film, Human Vapor is an eight-episode thriller series arriving on Netflix on July 2nd, with a fresh storyline. The Japanese sci-fi thriller, directed by Shinzo Katayama, opens with a jaw-dropping inciting incident that lays the groundwork of the central mystery when a respected and renowned scientist swells and explodes into vapour on live television. As the nation goes into utter shock, the killer behind the unexpected crime is identified as the “Human Vapor.”
The Human Vapor is a man who can literally turn his body into gas, allowing him to penetrate any barrier. While that makes him formidable on a whole new level, what makes him even more dangerous is his confidence. The killer doesn’t just kill; instead, he announces his crimes before carrying them out, openly mocking the authorities’ incompetence in catching up to a murderer they simply cannot seem to corner.
Survival of the Thickest (Linda Mendoza, Amy Aniobi, Kimmy Gatewood, Kim O Nguyen, Tasha Smith, and Thembi Banks, 2023-Present)
Lastly, also dropping on July 2nd is the third and final season of Survival of the Thickest, in which Mavis Beaumont navigates a fresh start following an unexpected breakup. Although still heartbroken, also more resilient than ever, Mavis lets loose in this instalment, juggling career demands, dating mishaps, and her romantic dilemma. In short, the final chapter is getting its ducks in a row to go out in fashion.
The newly single fashion stylist will be seen building her own brand amid a season of personal milestones packed with high-profile styling gigs. While she also has to handle Luca’s attempts to win back her affection, Mavis additionally has to make peace with some uncomfortable truths about navigating her 30s in the third season of Survival of the Thickest. So, if you haven’t already, mark your calendars now!
