Netflix has had a pretty hard time recently with a massive subscriber exodus and falling stock prices. However, the streamer has been consistent in adding new titles in the final week of May 2022, some of which have topped global charts.

A Perfect Pairing starring Victoria Justice and Adam Demos has topped the global charts with a streaming time of 32.6 million hours. Demos became quite popular on Netflix for his well-endowed self in the series Sex/Life and became well-known as the “shower guy”. He plays a fairly decent farmer n the film who falls in love with Justice, an LA-based executive. Although viewers have pointed out similarities between his role in this film and the 2019 Netflix film Falling Inn Love, the overall feel-good nature similar to that of Hallmark movies keeps seeming to attract the audience.
Although the film received a mixed reception, Alex Hardcastle’s comedy flick Senior Year has occupied the second spot on the charts, with a viewing time of 24.5 million hours. Starring Rebel Wilson, the film incorporates juvenile teen comedy b tropes while telling a heartwarming story of self-love, discovery and acceptance. It has reached the charts for the third time in a row.
Following the release of his highly-coveted 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise’s 1986 action film Top Gun has found its place on the global charts. Having been a huge commercial hit back in the day, the film starred Cruise, Val Kilmer, Kelly McGills and others. It has been viewed for a little over 6 million hours.
For the third week in a row, the harrowing Netflix documentary, Our Father has found its way back on the charts. Based on the true story of a controversial fertility specialist named Doctor Donald Cline, the film shows how the man had nearly 100 children after impregnating unsuspecting patients without their consent. The documentary is timeless, especially in the wake of the legalisation of abortion protest that is taking place in the United States.
