'Virgin River' creator teases major news that delights fans

Based on Robyn Carr’s eponymous novel series, Sue Tennery’s Virgin River has garnered quite a bit of following since its debut in 2019. After the huge success with her book series, Carr has announced the launch of her brand new book, much to the delight of fans.

Titled A Family Affair, Carr’s new book is set to launch on April 5th, 2022. The author took to Instagram to share the same news, expressing her thrill and excitement for the upcoming venture.

According to the book’s synopsis, it will deal with the “serious issues women face with humour and heart”. It will revolve around a woman taking notice of another young, pregnant woman attending the former’s husband’s funeral.

Realising how her husband’s mid-life crisis “went far beyond his weekend warrior style”, she will take matters into her own hands.

Fans who are already in love with Carr’s writings will have a good time bingeing on her book before the fourth season of Virgin River premieres on Netflix this year.

Laced with romantic pursuits, conflicts and dramatic tension, the series stars Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel and Martin Henderson as Jack, besides other actors such as Colin Lawrence, Jenny Cooper, Annette O’Toole and more.

It tells the story of a nurse and midwife, Mel, who escapes to the titular small town to start afresh. However, she sees that life in a small town is not as simple as she expected. In her quest for spiritual and emotional healing, she adjusts to the changing landscape and forges unlikely friendships along the way.

Shot in British Columbia that perfectly captures the sublime beauty of the fictional small town, the production of season five has reportedly been halted and “pushed”, according to Breckenridge. While the fourth season is on its way, it seems like the fans have to be a lot more patient for the arrival of the fifth season.
