Three Netflix limited series to keep an eye out for this November

Netflix spent the entire month of October doing nothing but showing off. And the biggest credit goes to Florence Pugh’s East of Eden. A new narrative of John Steinbeck’s novel was enough to help Netflix cover its major share of October views.

Of course, Josh Hartnett’s Newfoundland nightmare, Below, cannot be ignored. It became such a huge sensation that people are speculating, nay, demanding a second season even though Netflix made it clear that it’s a limited series.

And, people, this is where the format wins everyone over. You know where you stand. A beginning, an ending, and a job well done. Good thing November has taken one look at all that and decided it wants in.

So clear a bit of space on the watchlist, because three more limited series are heading our way before December knocks your door down with all the holiday stuffing.

Three Netflix limited series to keep an eye out for this November:

The Body – November 11th

First through the door in the second week of November is The Body, and don’t worry, it’s not some serious drama with a body stealing all the attention. It’s a horror thriller that takes you into the lives of a Catholic school’s dance squad called The Lions, putting new recruit Grace through an initiation involving drugs. And the night goes wrong as prophetic visions enter the picture. Because school politics needed Satanic panic thrown on top, of course.

Kristina Bogic and Sara Boustany play team captains, with Anya and Elise and Geena Meszaros among the cast, and once the town starts losing its head over what happened that night, the girls have far more to worry about than making the team. Quinn Shephard created the eight-episode series after writing an early version in her twenties. So, Catholic guilt and a dance squad initiation from hell… November, you have our attention.

Murder in Galicia – November 13th

And before you have had much chance to recover from that group, November 13th brings Murder in Galicia, although Netflix is pulling a cheeky move with this one. Unprotected: Murder in Galicia, the documentary about the real case, is releasing on November 6th; then one week later, you can watch the three-part dramatisation.

The drama takes us to the village of Pazos, where Irene survives a brutal attack during what looks like a robbery, but Civil Guard sergeant Elías is not convinced by that explanation and focuses his attention towards her husband, Aniceto. Tristán Ulloa from The Asunta Case plays Elías, with Miguel Borines as Aniceto. Elías believes Irene is still in danger while Aniceto remains free, so the three episodes move fast and keep the pressure on.

The Altruists – November 19th

Then November 19th rolls around with one of the most anticipated Netflix releases of November, with Julia Garner playing Caroline Ellison opposite Anthony Boyle as Sam Bankman-Fried in The Altruists. Across eight episodes, the series follows the pair from their idealistic ambitions in finance into the FTX scandal, where billions of dollars and one of the biggest collapses in crypto history are hanging over the story. Netflix is framing their relationship as a toxic love story as well, so we are not getting a dry boardroom drama.

Alex Lawther plays Sam Trabucco, while Karan Soni takes on Nishad Singh, with Graham Moore and Jacqueline Hoyt running the series. And anyone who lived through those FTX headlines will remember how absurd the whole affair became. The Altruists now gets eight episodes to take us inside that whole drama.
