The five biggest updates from Netflix this week: October 2026
One would expect Netflix to go all out with the spook factor in October, but more than the nightmares, it’s the arrival arc that has delighted fans in ways they didn’t see coming.
Much has already happened at Netflix headquarters, and more high-profile updates and releases await the final week of October.
With big-league reunions on the card, thanks to returning shows like Lupin and Nobody Wants This, last week didn’t leave the audience time to catch up with the rest of the head-turning news.
So, if you’re feeling FOMO about what else you might have missed, here’s a rundown of Netflix’s five biggest updates in the week ending October 25th.
The five biggest updates from Netflix this week
Tantara is coming to Netflix in December 2026
If you’re into period dramas, you’re about to fall in love with the upcoming K-drama Tantara, releasing on December 11th, 2026. Netflix officially unveiled the confirmed release date alongside a promotional poster for the series.
Set against the backdrop of South Korea’s bustling showbiz industry between the 1960s and the ‘80s, a period infamous for its social tumult and the rapid development of the nation’s music and cultural sphere, the show follows several people who may not have a lot to begin with, but certainly a lot of grit to take high-stakes risks to pursue fame and success.
All of Us Are Dead season two is confirmed, and Cheong-san is alive
As Netflix celebrated a decade of Korean storytelling in Seoul, CEO Ted Sarandos seized the opportunity to tease highly anticipated releases from the nation’s slate, including the confirmation of All of Us Are Dead season two. Although neither a teaser nor a release date was on the audience’s bingo card, the season is being labelled “coming soon,” which is enough for fans to celebrate.
To confirm the same at Netflix Korea’s Netflix Janchi livestream from Oil Tank Culture Park in Sangam-dong, Netflix even brought the series cast on stage to confirm Cheong-san is alive. Since the show’s renewal at Geeked Week in June 2022, All of Us Are Dead was presented publicly for the first time.
Lupin season four is officially a blockbuster
Of late, Netflix has faced scrutiny over its returning shows and viewership drops. But Lupin just answered back with numbers, skyrocketing to number one on the streaming giant’s global top 10 series chart, toppling Josh Hartnett’s gripping thriller Below (via Flix Patrol). While Below conquered the weekly chart after its October 8th debut, Lupin season four made a head-first ascent, surpassing the third season of Nobody Wants This in just a day after its release on October 23rd.
This Summer Will Be Different wraps production for Netflix adaptation
Book-to-screen adaptations on Netflix now have a special fan base, and for good reason. And although 2026 brought its fair share of adaptations, subscribers should be delighted to know Netflix officially wrapped production on This Summer Will Be Different, based on Carley Fortune’s bestselling book, in PEI and Toronto.
The series promises to take viewers to Canada’s Prince Edward Island to tell the story of a sun-drenched romance unfolding across subsequent summers. While the release date remains under wraps, it shouldn’t be long before the more pressing updates arrive.
The Gentlemen season three summons new A-listers
The Gentlemen season two made waves on Netflix when it landed earlier this year. But what made an even bigger impact was the rapid renewal for season three. While it goes without saying that the forthcoming season is going to get bigger, bolder, and better, to ensure the same, Netflix has roped in Robert Carlyle, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows, Philip Arditti, and Bugzy Malone to join Theo James’s Eddie and Kya Scodelario’s Susie. The instalment is currently in the works in the UK and Morocco!
