The five best series to watch on Netflix this weekend

The weekend is inching closer by the minute, and so are the hard-to-do-away-with anxieties about what to watch next on Netflix. While the anxiousness is most probably here to stay, as it shows up week after week without a miss, the concerns aren’t.

Once the weekend is over, the audience will have a fascinating new June lineup to welcome, which is honestly good news. But since we’re currently living the last week of May, it only makes sense to worry, given the universal streaming habit of slowing down by the end of the month.

Although with Netflix, entertainment has been incredibly easy so far this year, we totally get where you’re coming from.

But since trust isn’t earned so easily, let’s take one day at a time and get you on the edge of your seats with the five best series to binge on Netflix this weekend.

The five best series to stream on Netflix this weekend

The Four Seasons (Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, 2025-Present)

If you think the season of entertainment has come to a close, The Four Seasons on Netflix would beg to disagree. The hit comedy series, based on Alan Alda’s 1981 rom-com, is back on the streaming platform after an explosive debut season finale that ended with Nick’s tragic death in an unprecedented car crash. The sophomore season picks up the story right where the first instalment left it off.

Following the car crash, his girlfriend, Ginny, brought yet another bombshell revelation in tow for the gang – Kate, Jack, Anne, Danny, and Claude – to whom she reveals she’s pregnant with Nick’s child. While the group has already been reeling from a tough year, in the second season of The Four Seasons, they plan to continue their tradition of vacationing together. However, now, with a baby on board!

Murder Mindfully (Boris Kunz, Max Zahlé, and Martina Plura, 2024-Present)

The last week of May is flooded with returning shows on Netflix, which can easily light up your weekend watchlist. So, after you’re done vacationing with the comedians, don’t forget to hit the play button on the second season of the German dark comedy, Murder Mindfully. Björn Diemel takes the centre stage once again in the follow-up season as he juggles between raising his daughter and overseeing two warring mafia clans.

Despite having taken care of the heads of these two clans rather mindfully, Björn constantly struggles to maintain the peace he was hoping for. Worsening the case this time is his unresolved childhood conflicts, which, according to his mindfulness coach, are unpreventable until he finds a way to heal his inner child. So, in the second season of Murder Mindfully, he’s constantly walking the revolving door of meditative calmness and organised crime.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (Dolly Wells, 2024-Present)

Netflix knew pretty well that the last-minute anxieties would kick in at any time, so to help them vanish, they brought back Pippa Fitz-Amobi in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season two. After wrapping up the Andie Bell case in the debut season, Pip realises that her actions can shape the world she lives in, which is not always for the better. As a result, she’s desperate to fix the fallout and maintain distance from further investigations.

But with the nearing trial of Max Hastings, key witness Jamie Reynolds vanishes into thin air, forcing Pip to embark on a race against time. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season two will take her to unexpected places as she struggles to come to terms with the idea of justice and the hollowness of the system designed to bring the same.

Instadocs (Steve Yaccino, 2026)

Premiering May 30th, Instadocs is a quick-turnaround Netflix documentary that promises to take viewers into the eye of the storm, at the very heart of the loudest headlines. Created by Steve Yaccino, the upcoming Netflix docu-series is expected to address a wide range of contemporary events, crises, and cultural moments that keep shocking the world on a daily basis.

Instadocs will kick off with the Alex Murdaugh story, featuring new interviews on the explosive overturning of his double-murder conviction by the South Carolina Supreme Court earlier this month. For those unaware, the subject of Netflix’s latest docu-series was a former lawyer found guilty of murdering his wife and son in 2023. But just as he began serving consecutive life sentences, his team appealed the verdict, leading to its eventual overturn.

My 2 Cents (Zerocalcare, Davide Rosio, and Giorgio Scorza, 2026)

Finally, to end the weekend marathon, we have the perfect palate cleanser: My 2 Cents, an Italian adult animated comedy created by renowned cartoonist Zerocalcare. The animated series follows Zero, Cecco, and Cinghiale, who are actually business partners, struggling financially in more ways than one, in turn, hampering their personal dynamics and slowly slipping into the dangerous underworld of organised crime.

My 2 Cents is a complete package of biting satire that capitalises on deep vulnerability, focusing on everyday anxieties of adulthood. The more they spiral financially out of control, the more they find themselves drowning in the hot water. With no choice left, the gang must reunite as Cinghiale gets into serious trouble with the crime lords, all while sinking under the brunt of heavy responsibilities and compromises.
