The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: December 2022

Another week and another reminder that Netflix’s Wednesday is likely to be the biggest hit of the streaming platform’s long history. The Jenna Ortega series chalked up another huge 270 million hours of viewing, with its third week topping the most popular chart, which entirely dwarfs the next nearest series.

The comedic detective series sees the titular Addams Family go on a wild adventure of discovery as Wednesday attempts to solve the series of gruesome murders. Usually, when such specific series land, they have an initial explosion before the hype subsides and its demographic is sated. However, Wednesday just keeps on moving forward.

Second place this week goes to one of the most controversial series on our list, the latest documentary from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Harry & Meghan. In early 2020, the couple announced they would be stepping down from royal duties, feeling estranged from the family and institution and targets of media harassment.

The Duke and Duchess have been open about the struggles and mistreatment the press have put them through and continue to do so, with this documentary looking to be the most candid of them all.

Elsewhere on the list there are some classics such as Manifest, The Crown and 1899, which all deliver on their promise as long-standing chart-toppers. But the real intrigue is always in the new additions to this week’s lists, and we have some fantastic potential in our mists.

This week we have new entries from the fourth season of Too Hot to Handle, the unstoppably brilliant Firefly Lane and the astoundingly trivial, but utterly beguiling, Snack VS. Chef.
