The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: July-August 2026
Netflix viewers have spoken and, blimey, they are in a rather intense mood this week. True crime is back in the charts, and so is historical tragedy. With The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare taking the top spot, the list doesn’t exactly make for a cheerful line-up, does it?
The Idaho Murders, directed by Skye Borgman, uses police footage along with archival material and accounts from the victims’ families to tell the story. Crucially, the filmmakers have stressed that the students remain at its centre.
At number two, Ransom Canyon season two proves that Netflix subscribers still cannot resist poor romantic decisions when winsomeness is involved. April Blair’s modern Western returned on July 23rd, moving the action six months forward and expanding its unfailing formula of land and love. Honestly, why tamper with a winning formula?
Third place belongs to The Bombing of Pan Am 103, the limited series revisiting the 1988 Lockerbie disaster and the vast joint investigation that followed. The series follows the investigation carried out by the Scottish police and the FBI after the tragedy.
Then comes I Will Find You, which has finally slipped to the fourth spot. Another Harlan Coben adaptation engineered to trap the mystery-loving Netflix viewership. Sam Worthington leads the cast alongside Britt Lower and Milo Ventimiglia, playing a father imprisoned for his son’s murder who discovers the boy may still be alive.
The week’s loveliest twist is Ransom Canyon, season one, at number five. New viewers are starting from the beginning, while others appear to be revisiting the old entanglements after finishing season two. A two-season chart takeover? Not bad going.
Further down, Little House on the Prairie is still keeping itself up on the list at number six, followed by the July 27th edition of Raw. The Hawk swoops into eighth place, with Salish & Jordan Matter’s season two at ninth. Finally, Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 rounds out the chart.
