‘Stranger Things’ star Finn Wolfhard fired agent accused of sexual assault

Netflix’s Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has garnered a huge fan following thanks to his brilliant performance as one of the lead protagonists, Mike Wheeler, whose determination and loyalty has made everyone wish for a friend like him.

Recently, Wolfhard revealed how he immediately fired his former agent in 2017 after he was accused of alleged sexual assault. It was a move that showed Wolfhard’s zero-tolerance for such behaviour.

In October 2017, the #MeToo movement gained momentum where several big names in the industry were accused of sexual misconduct. Among them, Wolfhard’s former agent, Tyler Grasham.

Although the LA District Attorney did not press charges, the actor, who was 14 at that time, was quick to recognise his responsibility and dismiss his agent.

The 18-year-old revealed, “He was abusing his power. When it comes to something like that, you can’t be personal, like, ‘Yeah, but I’ve met him and he’s really nice.’”

He said, “When something incredibly serious and awful like that comes out, there’s no going back. When I found that out, I was like, ‘Oh, absolutely fire him. That’s insane.’”

The actor expressed his heartfelt empathy towards the survivors by stating, “I felt so terrible for the people who were harmed by this person.”

Gresham was dropped by the APA talent agency after Blaise Godbe Lipman, former child actor in Nobody Walks and The Dark Place, accused him of similar abuse.

Blaise took to Facebook to detail the harrowing assault that took place on him as a naive, underage, unsuspecting child. He spoke of how Grasham, “under the pretence of a business meeting regarding potential agency representation at APA Agency, fed me alcohol while I was underage and sexually assaulted me.”

Wolfhard did not rethink his decision and promptly fired the sexual offender. Wolfhard is now a burgeoning talent in the industry with various acting credits to his name. He has donned the directorial hat yet again for his upcoming venture- his first-ever feature-length film after a taste of success with his short film Night Shifts

Wolfhard will be seen in the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things, that is, according to him, “messed up”

Stranger Things season 4 is scheduled for a 2022 release. Check out the latest teaser trailer for the upcoming season four below:
