New 'Bridgerton' season three teaser has Polin fans in a tizzy

Fans of Bridgerton are in luck, as a new teaser for season three has just been released, featuring a rather intimate moment between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.

Since the beginning of season one, the pair – played by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton – have been a firm fan favourite, with viewers often referring to them as Polin, hoping that a relationship will form between them.

So far, however, Penelope has pined over Colin without him returning the affection, although they have become good friends. Yet, in the last episode of season two, ‘The Viscount Who Loved Me’, Penelope overhears him telling others that he would never court her, leaving her devastated.

In another recent teaser for the show, Penelope confronts Colin on his behaviour, calling herself a “spinster” and referring to him as “cruel.” While this scene suggests that their friendship is on the rocks, the more recent clip released by the Bridgerton Twitter account suggests that the pair are going to reconcile.

As Penelope stares into a mirror, Colin appears behind her before a shot fades in, showing their hands touching. Then we see them in the mirror again, looking up at each other as though they’re about to kiss. It seems like Polin fans can get excited for what season three has in store for the couple.

Season three is set to centre around the pair’s relationship, with an official synopsis revealing that after Colin experiences Penelope giving him “the cold shoulder,” he agrees to help her find a husband. Yet, “when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.”

In an interview with Variety, showrunner Chris Van Dusen revealed, “I really feel like it’s Colin and Penelope’s time. Because we’ve been watching both of these actors on our screens since Season 1.” She also stated that they will be “playing a little bit with the fact that this season is about two characters who are sort of stepping out of the shadows.”

The first half of the series will be available to stream on Netflix on May 16th before the remaining episodes arrive on June 13th. As one of the streamer’s most successful shows, the new season of Bridgerton is set to dominate Netflix’s top 10 charts.
