Netflix’s 'The Crown' to air infamous Princess Diana interview

Netflix’s popular show The Crown is set to feature the controversial and infamous Martin Bashir’s Panorama interview with Princess Diana much to the chagrin of Prince William who had desperately requested against it.

The Crown is set to air its fifth season and will have an entire episode dedicated to the 1995 interview where a lot of secrets had been revealed. The Netflix runners have reportedly spent big bucks on the episode and it will contain material that has led to raging controversy for almost three decades.

After Prince William’s lashing out against BBC, the episode will serve as an ultimate sense of disregard towards the young royal who wanted to talk about how the interview did not hold any “legitimacy” as Bashir had been conniving enough to use manipulative tactics to gain Diana’s trust.

Netflix runners see the interview as a turning point in Diana’s life and a crucial moment in the fifth season. “To the writers, the stormy marriage between Charles and Diana led up to her outpouring on Panorama, and the aftermath of that decision defined her final months,” revealed a close source.

“They are making huge investment in that. The Crown has a track record of delving into areas of the Royal Family’s history they’d rather be left alone.”

Prince William, who absolutely loathes the interview, said, “It effectively established a false narrative which, for over a quarter of a century, has been commercialised by the BBC and others.”

Meanwhile, a lot of anticipation has surrounded the final season of The Crown that will most likely deal with a lot of controversial royal stories.
