Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ 2 releases first song from official soundtrack

Netflix’s The Witcher season two will release on the streaming service on December 17, 2021. Recently, they released the lead single from the original soundtrack.

Titled ‘Power And Purpose’, the track is composed by Joseph Trapanese, who had composed an original soundtrack previously for the first season of Netflix’s The Witcher.

‘Toss A Coin To Your Witcher’ became an instant viral hit, sung by the actor Joey Batey, who played Jaskier. The full soundtrack for the second season will feature three vocal tracks from Batey.

Trapanese is well-known for having composed film scores for The Raid, The Greatest Showman, Tron: Legacy and Straight Outta Compton

Based on Andrzej Sapowki’s novel, the show is created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and stars Henry Cavill as the dauntless Geralt of Rivia who takes Princess Ciri, played by Freya Allen, to Kaer Morhen in this season to train her and lead her towards her destiny.

A third season is already being developed while its prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin is now in production.

The Witcher universe is constantly expanding. There will reportedly be another animated feature film after The Witcher: The Nightmare of the Wolf and a spin-off series that will be appropriate for family viewing.

The entire soundtrack will be available on December 17, 2021. Listen to ‘Power And Purpose’ below:
