Netflix renews popular spin-off ‘Selling The OC’ for fourth season

Netflix has announced a fourth season of the reality series Selling The OC, with more drama set to follow Orange County’s high-end real estate brokerage firm, The Oppenheim Group.

The streamer confirmed that production is currently underway, although a release date has yet to be confirmed. Other details remain sparse, but series creator Adam DiVello teased that new faces will appear as the agents navigate the new developments that have occurred in their lives since series three.

“A lot has changed in the real lives of those agents since Season 3, so it’s exciting to get back down there,” DiVello told Tudum, adding that there will be “a lot of new faces” trying to make their way and stake their claim in the world of Orange County real estate. “They are just crushing it down there,” he said.

The renewal of Selling The OC follows the success of another Selling Sunset spin-off, Selling the City, which is based in New York City. The first series, which premiered in 2019, featured a team in Los Angeles and San Diego, with the agents navigating several challenges in their personal and professional lives.

One of the show’s most shocking moments occurred with the departure of Christine Quinn, who was perceived as the ‘villain’ of series five, with the decision said to have been mutual between Quinn, Netflix, and the show’s producers.

Addressing her exit at the time, a source told Page Six: “Her goals are far bigger than playing a villain on an ensemble reality series. She can’t wait to start the next chapter of her career and show the world who she truly is.” Quinn became controversial after she was accused of bribing clients in an effort to win their support.

As fans gear up to watch the new instalment of Selling The OC, many expect to relive many of the dramatic mishaps that drew them to the franchise in the first place, including unexpected romantic liaisons and subsequent videos.
