Netflix casts Colin Woodell, KJ Apa and Diane Guerrero in Harlan Coben’s ‘Myron Bolitar’ series

Netflix and Harlan Coben look absolutely in love with each other, don’t they? But can you blame them? Every time Netflix picks one of his mystery books, it ends up another binge-hit. After I Will Find You smashed it, the partnership clearly isn’t slowing down.

So now they are cracking on with the next adaptation, Myron Bolitar, and we have finally got our first big casting update. We have Riverdale fame KJ Apa, along with Diane Guerrero on board, while Colin Woodell’s taking the lead as Myron. Not a bad little line-up, is it?

The story follows Myron, a former college basketball star whose NBA dream gets cut short by injury. Rotten luck! However, instead of walking away from the sport, he becomes a sports agent, but because it’s Harlan Coben, nothing is ever that simple.

Before long, Myron’s dealing with dangerous clients and secrets. More trouble than a regular sports agent should be in. So nah, do not expect a straightforward sports drama here.

This one has mystery and crime with a generous sprinkle of suspense. Myron keeps finding himself neck-deep in situations that could ruin both his career and his life.

Apa plays Win Lockwood, Myron’s mega-rich best friend and business partner. Cool under pressure and loyal to the bone. Lockwood is exactly the fellow you want in your corner when everything is going completely south.

Guerrero, meanwhile, plays Esperanza Diaz, a former pro wrestler who keeps the agency from falling apart. This lady has no patience for anybody’s nonsense and is very sharp.

Netflix has been absolutely feasting on Coben adaptations lately, with Fool Me Once, Missing You, Stay Close and I Will Find You all pulling viewers in. So if Myron Bolitar nails the books’ mix of mystery, don’t be shocked if everyone is banging on about this one next.
