Why you should be excited for Harlan Coben’s ‘Myron Bolitar’

Netflix loves to test the audience’s patience when it comes to Harlan Coben’s projects, and four years after first announcing, the streaming mogul finally has an interesting update on its Myron Bolitar adaptation.

The series was originally announced as part of Netflix’s renewed output deal with Coben, marking the first of his shows to be set in the US. However, in the years that followed, the streamer had remained tight-lipped about the project until now.

Myron Bolitar is set to go into production in New Jersey and New York in July 2026 for a four-month shoot. The series, based on the author’s long-running collection of novels, follows the titular character, who, despite dreaming of being an NBA star, is now a sports agent who represents clients.

While the details are currently scarce on the adaptation, here’s a rundown of everything known so far about Myron Bolitar.

What is the plot?

Myron Bolitar follows the titular character created by Harlan Coben, who appears in 12 of his novels. After an injury upends his dreams of becoming an NBA star, he starts a new chapter, making use of his experience, wit, skills, and a brutal partner to venture into the high-stakes, unforgiving, and dark side of the world of sports, where defending his clients comes at the cost of risking his own life.

Who is in the cast and crew?

As of now, Netflix has yet to reveal the cast lineup, alongside who’s leading the series as Myron Bolitar. But Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning writer and producer David E Kelly and Kyle Long will co-write the series with Harlan Coben, while also serving as co-showrunners and co-executive producers. Matthew Tinker is executive producing the forthcoming adaptation for David E Kelly Prods, and Rick Muirragui will executive-produce alongside Coben on behalf of Final Twist Productions.

In a conversation with Netflix, Coben said, “What an honour – not to mention, great fun – it is to partner up at Netflix with legend David E Kelley and his remarkable team on this exciting new series. The Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to me, and I’m thrilled to have such a talented and inspired group bringing them to life.”

Is there a trailer?

Unfortunately, there’s no trailer available at the moment as the crime drama has yet to go into production, but stay tuned.

When does Myron Bolitar release on Netflix?

Myron Bolitar doesn’t have a release date on Netflix as of yet. But since the production will span a good four months, fans can expect a 2027 release, keeping post-production in mind.
