'Money Heist: Korea' introduces real-life immersive experience in Malaysia

Heist aficionados and certified Money Heist fans- both of the original series and Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area– will get to live an immersive experience of the show in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by robbing the former North Korean embassy.

Currently, one of the most popular series on Netflix, Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area is the Korean version of the Spanish Original and has the original creator, Alex Pina serving as an executive producer on the show.

The immersive experience is being hosted by Netflix Malaysia in the former North Korean Embassy located at Cawangan Malaysia which has been transformed into the Kuala Lumpur branch of the JEA.

Interested visitors will be greeted with a traditional Korean Hahoe mask and an interactive character display. After donning the mask and quintessential red jumpsuit, the task will be briefed by the Professor himself, before being taken through three distinct rooms that mirror specific locations from the show.

Within half an hour, the visitors are required to solve a treasure hunt in Tokyo’s room before hacking into the JEA system in Rio’s room and then moving on to a puzzle-solving session at Nairobi’s lair.

Upon successful completion of the hunt, they will be able to enter the final vault where truckloads of crisp notes await them.

This immersive experience began on June 25th, 2022, and will continue to July 10th, 2022, taking place between 6 to 10 pm on weekdays, and 10am to 10pm on weekends.

Helmed by the acclaimed filmmaker Kim Hong-su, the show is set in an East Asian landscape, a fictional unified Korea where a ragtag team of robbers attempt to pull the greatest heist in history, amounting to 4 trillion Korean Won from a mint.

The series stars Park Hae-soo, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Myung-hoon, Jeon Jong-seo, Lee Won-jong and Lee Hyun-woo among several other cast members.
