Lindsay Lohan bags a two-picture deal with Netflix

Months back, Netflix announced a new Christmas rom-com with the long-forgotten actress Lindsay Lohan. Now, she has reportedly bagged a two-picture deal with the streamer to mark her comeback.

Lohan will be playing a wealthy, spoilt heiress in the film, Falling for Christmas, who injures herself in the skiing accident and ends up holed up in an adorable father-daughter household. Sparks will fly between her and the lodge owner in a very cliche turn of events.

Netflix’s Director of Independent Film, Christina Rogers, expressed her delight at working with the 35-year-old actress. She said, “We’re so happy with our collaboration with Lindsay to date, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with her.”

Lohan took the screenshot of the same Deadline article and shared it on her Instagram, promising “exciting things” in the caption, followed by a few expressive emoticons.

Lohan had had a pretty successful career and was one of the highest-paid young actresses before her personal life took a tumble for the worse, gaining her all kinds of negative attention. She grabbed the public attention with her cute and expressive acting as twins in The Parent Trap before becoming a household name as the nerdy Cady Heron in Mean Girls and the teenage musician in Freaky Friday

Netflix announced the news on their Twitter account, saying, “The world first fell in love with Lindsay Lohan when she played a set of twins — and Netflix is once again giving the world twice the Lindsay to love through a creative partnership that will see her star in two new films!”

Lohan will star alongside Chord Overstreet in the upcoming Janeen Damian film that will release this year, presumably as a part of Netflix’s Christmas line-up.
