Netflix renews hit Polish comedy series ‘1670’ for a fourth season
Whether or not order prevails in the town of Adamczycha, the smash-hit Polish comedy series 1670 is officially returning for a fourth season on Netflix in 2027.
Having been one of the platform’s longest-running international period dramas, the series has earned early renewals that routinely flout the streamer’s 31-day viewership metric.
Surely, it may not be at par with Netflix’s English-language hits, but according to FlixPatrol, the debut season itself spent 91 days on its Polish top 10 charts.
A highly successful sophomore season touched down on Netflix in late 2025, followed by season three in August 2026. And now, in a little over two weeks, 1670 became the first Polish Netflix Original series to have a fourth season, thanks to the rapid renewal.
During the final hours of the Panorama 1670 exhibition at Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, series protagonist Bartłomiej Topa literally hatched out of a humongous egg to share the renewal update with fans. Those attending the exhibition were undoubtedly the first to discover this alongside global viewers who watched the 24-hour live stream of the giant symbolic egg on the streamer’s YouTube channel.
“Announcing the continuation of the Adamczewski family’s fate from inside a giant egg was a wonderfully absurd experience in the style of Jan Paweł! For me and the entire 1670 crew, this is no greater reward than observing fans who live and breathe this series and love it just as much as I do,” the Polish actor said about the show’s return.
Director of Local Language Originals in Central and Eastern Europe at Netflix, Łukasz Kłuskiewicz, also addressed the groundbreaking renewal, saying, “Three seasons of 1670 are behind us, and fan reactions in Poland and abroad continue to surprise – it’s the best proof that it’s worth betting on original ideas from Polish creators.”
Adding, “The scale of the ‘1670 effect’ – the series’ impact on language, pop culture, tourism, and other areas of social life – is shown in the report published before the opening of ‘Panorama 1670.’ It will be even more interesting to follow how it develops after season four – because 1670, as the first Polish Netflix Original series, is getting a fourth instalment.”
Although Netflix remains tight-lipped about the synopsis and the exact release date of season four, it is confirmed to arrive in 2027. So, stay tuned for more updates!
