Everything to know about Netflix’s new crime saga, ‘Bad Bridgets’
If you like Netflix’s crime catalogue, you’re going to like it even better when you meet the Bad Bridgets in a few.
The historical crime thriller, directed by Rich Peppiatt, is based on history professors Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick’s research project, which they later wrote as a nonfiction book, Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women, and the Bad Bridget podcast.
Inspired by the true history of real Irish emigrants to New York, Boston, and Toronto in the 19th and 20th centuries, the upcoming movie revisits an era where Irish women often outnumbered Irish men behind bars.
