If you start your day with what’s new on Netflix, you have probably caught up with the news. But in case you haven’t, Crew Girl is officially rowing back for more.

Netflix has recently greenlit the YA sports romance drama for a second season, meaning we’re far from done with Easton Prep. In fact, in a recent conversation with Tudum, Crew Girl star Miku Martineau expressed her excitement about what’s to come.

“There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team – it’s going to be a ride for sure! All I know is that it will definitely be a packed, juicy, drama-filled second season, so I’m ready to get back in a boat and on camera! #Teamteagan.”

When the debut season premiered on September 10th, it quickly cracked into Netflix’s weekly English TV top 10 charts. However, the renewal came twice as fast, and fans already cannot wait to revive the rowing era. So, for those wondering, here’s a rundown of what to expect from Crew Girl‘s sophomore season.

What happened in season one?

Crew Girl season one opens with Teagan and her mother, Ella, relocating to the latter’s hometown, the small coastal town of Eagles Cove, after Teagan’s father gets entangled in a massive financial scandal. The skilled rower enrols at Easton Prep, an elite private school, only to learn her new school has no girls’ rowing team. As a result, she ends up filling in as coxswain for the rowdy boys’ boat, despite never having coxed before.

While that’s quite the drama, Teagan also finds herself embroiled in a love triangle between Easton Prep golden boy Josh and the subtle but determined Cam.

What to expect from season two?

Now that Crew Girl season two is officially happening, series stars Miku Martineau, Sam Braun, and Kyle Clark opened up about where the show could head next. “I think we should go on summer break or something, get lost in the woods,” Braun suggests. Meanwhile, Clark chimes in, saying, “It’d be really fun to do a summer bash and be on the lake boat and see what their life is [like] outside of rowing too.” “We really want to step it up. I would love to try single sculling.”

Plus, as Britney’s new girls’ team is in the making, Teagan might find an opportunity to get back behind an oar. “It’s going to be interesting to watch. She has such an attachment to the boys’ team, but she’s also in pursuit of her own rowing career,” Martineau says. As for the matters of the heart, could there be a “love square” in the making? Well, fans have to hold their horses to know more!
