Chris Evans accidentally hit Ryan Gosling during ‘The Gray Man’ filming

Chris Evans has revealed how he accidentally hit Ryan Gosling during the filming of the upcoming $200 million espionage action thriller The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers.

With a promising premise, the film also stars Ana de Armas, Rege-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, Billy Bob Thronton, Julia Butters, Jessica Henwick, Eme Ikwuakor, and more.

Given the hype surrounding the project, Netflix has already planned to extend the film into a possible trilogy. Gosling is seen as the titular CIA veteran who is compelled to be on the run after being betrayed by the agency. He is pursued by the conniving Lloyd Hansen, played by Evans, sporting a distinguished moustache, which will lead to an epic showdown.

While Evans has always played a superhero, he will be seen as an antagonist for the very first time. Joe Russo even praised his brilliant chemistry with Gosling, comparing the same to Al Pacino and Robert De Niro’s incredible camaraderie in the 1995 Michael Mann crime film Heat

Discussing the feature, Joe Russo described it as “fantastic” and said that the “intense action film” would see “very, very entertaining performances from both actors, and they’re absolutely pitted against each other in the movie.”

Elsewhere, Russo also called Evans “a sociopath” who “got into character a little too quickly”. Russo talked about how Evans told them: “I’m comfortable enough in my life and the work I’ve done that I’m just interested in taking risks moving forward, and I just want to play challenging characters.”

With that, Russo agreed, adding: “So it seemed obvious to us that the right move here would be to offer Chris the sociopath and not the hero.”

In a humorous behind the scenes revealer, Evans took to Instagram to share the story of how he accidentally hit Gosling in the face on the first day of filming. He said, “My first day of filming. I accidentally hit Ryan in the face with the gun.”

Last month, Netflix released the film’s first trailer but released a new clip during Netflix Geeked Week 2022. Watch the teaser below.
