Why you should be excited for ‘UNTAMED’ season two
Now that UNTAMED is officially returning for a second season with Eric Bana reprising the role of the brooding park agent, Kyle Turner, Netflix is going all out with updates, giving fans enough already to be excited about.
While Netflix most recently confirmed that Turner would be headed to Hawaii for his next case, as it turns out, his upcoming investigation wouldn’t be without some new faces. In the second season of the gritty small-town crime drama, the Investigative Services Branch agent of the National Park Service will take up a fresh new mystery to solve.
Although UNTAMED was originally conceived as a six-episode limited series, in a conversation with Tudum, co-creators Mark L Smith and Elle Smith shared what changed their mind. “Elle and I envisioned it as a stand-alone six episodes. But then the more that we got into it, it was such a great cast… it was just like, ‘Oh yeah, how do we keep this going?’”
So, considering the fans, creators, and the crew are on the same page, if that makes you curious, here’s all that you should know about the second season of UNTAMED.
What is the plot?
The second season of UNTAMED finds Special Agent Turner in Hawaii as he’s summoned to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where the incident has sent the already volatile local community into high alert. Although this isn’t the first national park Turner has visited since leaving Yosemite, this is where the upcoming instalment takes place.
Who is in the cast?
As of now, Netflix has confirmed only two additional cast members, in addition to Eric Bana‘s return as Kyle Turner. Shea Whigham has been roped in to portray Ray Burkart, a grieving father constantly locking horns with Turner over the investigation of his son’s murder.
Meanwhile, Kelly Hu has been cast to play Awapuhi, a Hawaiian Island native who has spent the last few years in Oahu trying to come to terms with her son’s death. Now, she’s set to strike back into the Big Island to confront the monsters she left behind. While Netflix has yet to unveil the entire slate of members, given that Turner is headed to a new park, it won’t be long before we meet the rest of the inhabitants.
Where is UNTAMED season two set?
The first season of the Netflix series had Turner investigating a case close to home in Yosemite National Park. But UNTAMED season two is doing away with the comfort zone. When we next see Turner, he will be far in the middle of the Pacific, in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.
Is there a trailer?
No! Netflix has yet to release a trailer for the second season.
When does UNTAMED season two release?
Netflix hasn’t revealed the release date either. However, given that production is already underway, it shouldn’t be long before more updates surface.
