Eric Bana to star in Netflix limited series 'Untamed'

Netflix are set to release the limited series Untamed, which stars Eric Bana. Mark L. Smith and his daughter, Elle Smith, wrote the series. 

Untamed is described as a character-driven mystery thriller where Bana plays the role of Eric Inman. Inman is described as “A special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Inman on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.” 

As well as starring in the series, Eric Bana will also be taking on the role of executive producer. Erin Jontow and John Wells will also perform executive production duties via John Wells Production. Additionally, Todd Black and Tony Shaw will be acting for Escape Artists Entertainment; Steve Lee Jones will work on the series for Bee Holder Productions, and Cliff Roberts will act for Syndicate Entertainment. 

Bana is known for his film roles, as he has previously starred in features like Dirty JohnFull Frontal and Something in the Air. Other significant productions to which the actor has been attached include Hulk, Black Hawk Down, Munich, Troy and Star Trek.

Untamed will be the third Netflix series that Mark L. Smith has worked on. His previous works include American Primeval, and The 39 Steps, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch. Smith has also written films such as the Oscar-winning The Revenant and The Boys in the Boat.

Elle Smith made her writing debut with her work on The Marsh King’s Daughter, which she co-wrote with her father. 

Further details surrounding the release date of the new series are yet to be confirmed, and this remains a developing story.
