‘Wednesday’ cast teases new Addams family member in season two

The Wednesday cast assembled at the Netflix Tudum event on June 17th to discuss fan theories for the upcoming second season. “Wednesday season 2 is being worked on right now, and the storyline is so top secret, even we don’t know what’s going to happen,” Emma Myers mentions at the start of the video.

However, while discussing a few interesting fan theories, Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Myers (Enid Sinclair) and Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay) spilt the tea that a new Addams family member will be joining the cast for season two.

In the first season, comedian Fred Armisen took the mantle from the iconic Christopher Allen Lloyd to play Uncle Fester. The casting for Fester was kept under wraps until the final moments leading up to the show’s release.

Since they are not at liberty to reveal the identity of the character yet, they took to fantasy casting of their own. Ortega would love Cousin Itt to shuffle his way in, while Doohan and Sunday would love to meet Wednesday’s grandmother.

For season two, team Wednesday wants to dial down the romance angle and up the horror ante, and we are all here for it. Even Ortega seems to be more in control and, thereby, happier for it. This will give the showrunners more scope to delve into the fan theories discussed by the cast at the event: What happens to Crackstone’s ring? Is Weems (Gwendoline Christie) really dead? Does Wednesday become the new Hyde master?

Wednesday season one co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough cheekily confirmed the show’s renewal in January 2023, “We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore. We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
