Watch this "perfect" horror film on Netflix

Netflix viewers seem to love the titles under the horror genre. Almost every week, a new horror film keeps popping up on the top ten charts as viewers take an innate interest in these releases.

From the Fear Street trilogy to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and the German film Blood Red Sky, as well as the scary French film, The Swarm, over 2021, Netflix has released a wide variety of horror content, much to the delight of this genre enthusiasts.

The Rotten Tomatoes score is an essential tool for all film buffs. A good score often prompts them to watch a film, while an embarrassingly low score might throw them off.

Rarely do films receive a perfect rating on the Rotten Tomatoes scale, as it is challenging to be appealing to such a broad demographic of viewers. However, one such horror film now streaming on Netflix has a hundred per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Written and directed by Leroy Kincaide, the indie horror flick, The Last Rite was released in 2021 and later added to Netflix.

The film deals with an unusual trope that remains relatively unexplored within the various horror sub-genres. While it deals with one’s dwindling sanity and the inability to distinguish between the real and the hallucinatory, the film revolves around the physical and psychological effects of sleep paralysis and the subsequent impact on the patient’s mind or body.

Tarring Bethan Waller as the lead protagonist, Lucy, the film sees her as a medical student suffering from severe bouts of sleep paralysis. Subsequently, a demonic entity that threatens to rip apart her sanity begins haunting Lucy.

After she moves in with her boyfriend, things worsen, and she seeks the help of a priest who performs a dangerous exorcism on her.
