A new trailer has been released for the spin-off to the 2017 TV thriller Money Heist.
Named Berlin, the mini-series is based on the Money Heist character, played by Pedro Alonso. Similarly to the plot of the original series, the new show follows Berlin as he plans a heist with a bunch of unlikely criminals, with the fan-favourite protagonist leading the pack with his familiar mad-cap enthusiasm.
One of Netflix’s most-watched series of all time, Money Heist was one of the streaming site’s most unlikely successes, raising the profile of creator Álex Pina considerably.
Speaking about the new series on Netflix’s TUDUM website, the creator stated: “It’s a trip through the golden age of the character, when he robbed around Europe crazy in love…That’s the most surprising, the comedy. You’re going to make people laugh a lot”.
Due to be released in December 2023, the series will arrive shortly after the highly anticipated releases of series six of The Crown and series four of Sex Education, with both scheduled to hit the platform in Autumn.
The new series of The Crown, which centres on the history of the British royal family, will star the likes of Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Dominic West and Olivia Williams.
Take a look at the new trailer for Berlin below, which is due to hit Netflix on December 29th.
