Netflix has released the very first teaser trailer for the new series Lockwood & Co, starring Bridgerton’s Ruby Stokes.
Written and directed by Joe Cornish, the same mind who helmed the 2011 breakout hit Attack the Block, the series is based on Jonathan Stroud’s novel of the same name. It all follows a small startup company run by two teenage boys and a gifted teenage girl, with the trio unravelling a peculiar mystery which could have a detrimental impact on the future course of human history.
Set in a world teeming with ghosts, the ‘Lockwood & Co.’ organisation is the only ghost-hunting group to operate without adult supervision.
As well as Stokes, the cast also includes Ivanno Jeremiah, Luke Treadaway, Ben Crompton, Morven Christie, Cameron Chapman, Paddy Holland and Ali Hadji-Heshmati. Fans of the popular novels will be highly anticipating this brand-new release, and with Cornish at the helm, they can rest easy with the knowledge that the British filmmaker will likely bring a touch of cinematic class.
As well as directing Attack the Block in 2011 with John Boyega, Nick Frost and Jodie Whittaker, Cornish also helmed The Kid Who Would Be King more recently. Released in 2019, the fantasy comedy movie featured such names as Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Denise Gough, Rebecca Ferguson, Patrick Stewart and Mark Bonnar.
Lockwood & Co is due to be released on Netflix on January 27, 2023.
