The three best Millie Bobby Brown films to watch on Netflix
Millie Bobby Brown entered Hawkins as the shaved-headed girl with a secret. But Netflix always knew that by bringing their very own Eleven, all things Brown on the streamer would be an eleven out of ten. Since she brought Stranger Things on her coattails, every time the light twinkles in one of the households, people pray to Dr Martin Brenner’s favourite lab rat to save the day. Now, whether she saves Hawkins in season five is a different story, but she has donned the cape quite a few times for Netflix with a partnership etched in gold.
Brown’s Netflix credit is a crown on its own. A-listers live the life of stardom every day. Yet, it is rare to see streaming powerhouses catapulting actors to a level where they become synonymous with a Netflix star. However, the Stranger Things actor is no ordinary starlet. She has made the OTT platform a staircase to Hollywood heaven, and each new step they take together is a clarion call for her and the streamer’s counterparts to watch out.
With Stranger Things season five on the horizon, with a three-part release scheduled from November onwards and Enola Holmes 3 in production, it couldn’t be a better time to get on a streaming marathon with Millie Bobby Brown films. Moreover, the fact that they are all on Netflix saves you the trouble of hopping between streaming counterparts. While you may not find a Hawkins gang waiting at the door with walkie-talkies to communicate, you will find Eleven, in all her glory.
So, in the wake of what’s about to come starring Brown on Netflix, let’s revisit what’s already there with three films.

3. Enola Holmes 2 (Harry Bradbeer, 2022)
Serving as a sequel to Enola Holmes (2020), Enola Holmes 2 is a detective mystery film, starring none other than Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. The first instalment was adapted from Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries, but the second is inspired by the matchgirls’ strike of July 1888. Unlike its predecessor, Enola Holmes 2 brings a more mature character, where, although she opens a spy agency on her own, she struggles to attract clients like her brother Sherlock.
But then a case does come. Bessie, a girl who works at the match factory, seeks Enola’s assistance to track down her missing sister, Sarah Chapman. She takes Enola to the factory, where a typhus epidemic has unleashed fatal, and soon the latter realises she has much more on the mysterious plate than meets the eye. Enola Holmes 2 took much more creative liberty in picking a part of history and blending it with popular literature.
The success of Enola Holmes warranted the arrival of the sequel movie, which went up to the summit of Netflix viewership charts in 93 countries. It already debuted as number one on the streamer’s global weekly viewership statistics with 64.08million hours streamed. The impact was so monumental that within the first week of the sequel’s release, the viewership frenzy landed on the first film, generating 9.64m hours viewed. Enola Holmes 3 is currently underway filming.
2. Damsel (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, 2024)
Millie Bobby Brown loves to dwell in the supernatural world. But on Netflix, she subverted the entire trope of the damsel-in-distress with a single move, thanks to Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s Damsel. Brown plays the role of Elodie in the movie, whose acceptance of a marriage proposal turns out to be a matrimonial nightmare. She soon finds out that she’s being treated as a means to an end to settle and pay back a royal dynasty’s past borrowings.
Brown was never ready to sacrifice Hawkins, so there’s absolutely no question of being the collateral damage in here. Ahead of the film’s release, the director called Brown “the heart of the movie” to Tudum. Despite being a fantasy genre, he explained that it was unlike anything Brown had portrayed before, and surely, he meant it.
The idea Fresnadillo had in mind was to subvert the traditional conditioning of womanhood. And he did so by introducing an obedient daughter, who evolves into a strong, independent personality. Even personally, Brown had to overcome her claustrophobia and masklophobia to get the scenes done. Damsel was also the most-watched film of the first half of last year.
1. Enola Holmes (Harry Bradbeer, 2020)
Enola Holmes is the first film of the Netflix film series starring Millie Bobby Brown as the titular character. Adapted from Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries, the film follows Enola on her journey to London to get hold of her missing mother. But as is in the Holmes genes, she unknowingly embroils herself in an enigmatic adventure with a runaway lord. Countless Sherlock Holmes adaptations can be found on the tracks of showbiz, but Enola Holmes was the first of its kind.
Not only does the film intrigue the audience, but it also sheds light on lesser-known corners of the Holmes world. Enola Holmes was a blockbuster in its own right. It was crowned the most-watched Netflix original film in the first five days and became one of the most-watched Netflix originals of all time. Apparently, over 76m households tuned into the movie in the first four weeks. Brown received a Kids’ Choice Award for ‘Favourite Movie Actress’ and a Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award for ‘Youth in Film-Female.’ The film won a Saturn Award for ‘Best Film Representation in Streaming Media.’
