‘The Night Agent’ is set to conclude with season four

The beloved spy thriller on Netflix, The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso, is officially coming to a close with its fourth and final season, meaning Peter Sutherland is getting its ducks in a row for the last lap.

According to showrunner Shawn Ryan, the fourth season, which is currently in production in Los Angeles, is confirmed to give Peter the farewell he deserves, and reportedly, he has been preparing for this conclusion all this time (via Tudum).

“Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey,” Ryan says.

The third season of the gripping Netflix drama saw Peter travelling the extra mile to uncover a dark-money network, ultimately putting him at odds with his alliances that made him confront the deep-seated corruption and conspiracy at the highest level of administration. While the instalment was nothing less than a page-turner, it left quite a few burning questions still unanswered. So, as per the showrunner, season three was “meant to be a launching pad for season four.”

The third season of The Night Agent was packed with high-octane chase and hard-hitting action sequences, and its premiere debuted in the global Top 10, triggering an uptick for the first two seasons as well. The spy drama has surpassed 27 weeks on the chart, becoming the number one show in 87 countries.

“I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans,” Ryan adds. “We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”

The third season of The Night Agent concluded with Peter informing his boss about taking a much-needed break from work. Although the FBI deputy director is more than happy, he also brainstorms the new possibilities once Peter is back. “I’ve been thinking about the request you made earlier for a partner. I think I have a candidate in mind,” Agent Aiden Mosley tells Peter.

Clearly, the stakes will be higher than ever for the night agent in what’s to come, and fans can expect new faces in this final chapter. Titus Welliver, Li Jun Li, Trevante Rhodes, and Elizabeth Lail have been cast as season four additions to The Night Agent.

But until more information arrives, the first three seasons of The Night Agent are currently streaming on Netflix!
