'The Night Agent' becomes Netflix’s new biggest show

Netflix’s brand-new thriller, The Night Agent, becomes the latest show to take the streaming giant’s top spot.

The series starring Peter Sutherland rapidly rose to the top of Netflix’s weekly ranking chart and is now being tipped by many to be the next smash-hot for the platform following in the footsteps of their previous viral romp, Wednesday

The series comes with the following official synopsis: “As the titular night agent, Peter has one job: to sit in the basement of the White House all night and man an emergency phone line for undercover spies. He does that job so well that when down-on-her-luck tech CEO Rose (Luciane Buchanan) calls in the murder of her aunt and uncle, Peter doesn’t just answer the phone.”

Continuing: “Instead, he risks his career and life to not only protect her from two assassins but also to untangle a dark conspiracy involving the president, the White House chief of staff, the vice president, the vice president’s daughter and many more. Cue the car chases, gunfights, exploding bombs, kidnappings and assassination attempts!”

That exciting proposition has ensured that the show has risen to the top spot in pretty much every region of the globe, knocking The Glory off its perch as the most-watched show at the moment.

The 10-episode series is based on Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name. Its success is already prompting talk of a second season but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
