While Netflix continues to change the streaming game with a bunch of new ways of watching content, we like to focus on the most important part of that equation — the TV shows and movies that make up the core of the streaming platform. As spring has hit the air, there is a move away from cosy content on Netflix, and while there are still plenty of winter warmers to bring a little heat to your life, things have cooled a little on our ten most popular series list. And when we say “cool” we mean the cold and breathless adventures of Joe Goldberg in You.
The second instalment of the fourth season of Joe’s murderous adventures has grabbed 75million hours of viewing. The fourth season sees Joe move to London in an attempt to reinvent himself, using the pseudonym Jonathan Moore. Sara Gamble, the co-creator and showrunner, revealed in a statement: “We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past three seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season 4.”
Next up on the list is an equally chilling affair, MH370: The Plane That Disappeared, the series that focuses on the heartbreaking disappearance of a passenger plane several years ago, it brought in nearly 60million hours of viewing to boot.
There are a few moments of steaminess in our list, however, and they are both provided by Sex/Life, the hot and horny lives of a group of friends. Across both series, the show has garnered 70million hours of viewing. With the second season of Sex/Life over, fans are already looking forward to the possibility of a third instalment. The last series ended happily, and now fans are looking for a third.
Another dominant performance comes from Outer Banks, with all three seasons of the show in the top ten, proving it to be a bonafide hit. It totals 76million hours of viewing across the three series.
