Picking the best movie for your weekend watching is always a difficult task. The need to be daring or defiant is one that is hard to shake. However, sometimes it is good to go with the grain and realise that some of the most popular movies on Netflix are popular for a very good reason.

While the film certainly has its issues, it’s perfect Friday night viewing, boasting enough intrigue, tension and all-out action to keep most people entertained. With 69 million hours of viewing in this week alone, it’s easily the most beloved movie of the moment on the platform.
The rest of the list is a mix of movie styles that could also please most individuals in the household. The double feature of The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire shows Jennifer Lawrence in her breakout role. While Jim Carrey’s star turn in Kick Ass 2 is also worth a watch, even if it is a little on the violent side.
This week’s new entries are a varied bunch. On the one hand, we have The Magician’s Elephant which is a sweet and sentimental animated feature, while on the other we have Money Shot: The Pornhub Story which is an in-depth look at the porn industry. On that final third hand, we all have, there is the Mel Gibson-led action movie Dragged Across Concrete which provides enough explosions to make Michael Mann wince.
All in all, there is enough in the movie world to keep Netflix users entertained; however, if you wanted our pick of the bunch, then you’re best off becoming one of the many people who sat down to watch Luther last week.
