‘The Four Seasons’ season two ending explained: Where do Claude and Danny finally move?
The debut season of The Four Seasons culminated in an explosive finale when Nick unfortunately died in a tragic car crash, a departure from Alan Alda’s 1981 movie. So, when the second season of the hit comedy series commences on Netflix, it opens with the gang in a collective existential crisis, trying to figure out who they are without Nick.
As they all grieve, Kate and Jack try to figure out how to back each other up while Danny and Claude keep up with their debate about whether having a child could bring a new purpose to their life. Meanwhile, Anne and Ginny are initially at odds over Nick’s estate, but they soon become a team as soon as the baby enters the group.
In the second season of The Four Seasons, the friends pull up on the Jersey Shore for a vacation, which, once again, triggers a multitude of events. While vacationing, the group comes across Mark Brett, who hits it off with Jack almost instantaneously. Although Jack seems to have found the male friendship he so misses with Nick, the gang is kind of worried about Anne, who initially rejects the idea of doing all the hot-girl shit she used to, until she’s in Italy and it’s too late.
As for Claude and Danny? They’re fidgeting with the idea of moving to multiple places in the aftermath of the baby discussion, finally deciding on one unexpected place.
Where do Claude and Danny finally move in The Four Seasons?
The second season of The Four Seasons opens with Danny still reeling from the death of his friend while reckoning with his own health scare from the debut instalment. In a conversation with Tudum, Colman Domingo explains, “They’re just having an existential crisis, and want to know, ‘What’s next for us? Are we just going to keep redoing our home? Or are we going to evolve in some way?’ ” So, when the baby topic comes, both are expectedly not on the same page.
Claude feels that the train has left the station, but Danny doesn’t feel similarly. They ultimately decide not to have a baby, with the pair announcing in episode four about their plans to move to Claude’s hometown: Trento, Italy. And it is in the seventh episode that Anne, Jack, and Kate decide to pay them a visit at their new home.
But their decision to move to Italy, unfortunately, brings friction between Kate and Danny, prompting a fight atypical of a gay man and his straight best friend. However, as they work through the streets of Italy, they do make amends. Yet, Trento, Italy, doesn’t stay as their permanent residence for long.
In the eighth episode, Danny’s mother, Beverly, is rushed to the hospital, with the doctors revealing that she will require long-term care. Although Danny and Claude are both torn about this decision, upon overhearing the former tell Beverly just how important Claude is to him in an attempt to desperately convince her to move to Trento, Claude decides that they will move to Philadelphia and stay full-time with Beverly to take care of her.
With them moving back to Philly, Anne finally decides to house-sit for them indefinitely in the conclusive chapter of The Four Seasons.
